Norwich City Council recognised as a Living Wage Industry Champion
In early June 2019 Living Wage Norwich’s Chair of Trustee – Daniel Childerhouse – was delighted to attend the annual Living Wage Champion awards with The Leader of Norwich City Council – Alan Waters.
The Awards recognise Living Wage employers and individuals that are showing leadership by promoting the real Living Wage in their industries, supply chain and areas, which has led to outstanding contributions to communities and industries across the UK. Norwich City Council picked up the Industry Champion award for their work with Living Wage Norwich to promote the Real Living Wage to local employers.
From Martin Lewis’ amazing hosting to the touching stories shared, it was a great pleasure to celebrate the Living Wage Champions, from the employers, individuals to the campaigners who have gone above and beyond to grow and promote the Living Wage movement! There were 26 winners and 200 attendees many of whom have made great contributions to nearly a billion pounds going back to into the pockets of low-paid workers.
We’re very proud of our city and now look forward to continuing to work with key partners like Norwich City Council as we prepare for Living Wage Week 2019!
